[Mihawk is currently standing to the side of the main crossroad near the Good Spirits Bar, absently looking around and watching people fuss about their way what with the holiday spirit and such.]

Does anyone happen to have an estimate of how long will this glittery, colorful, over the top... celebration is going to last?

[Because he's seriously considering hitting the forest for a while until you people and your lights and trees and holiday cheer are done making him vaguely ill. And given how disgruntled he sounds, you can totally tell by his tone alone.

[Norma's hand stops, if only because she herself has to pause and digest his words a little bit. Slowly, she turns her head to face Mihawk completely and gives him a very pointed look.]

...If you tell me you're married to this thing, I will lose whatever respect I've stored up already for you, Bright Eyes.

[A single eyebrow arches at her.]

You must have very interesting customers, if that's your logical conclusion after that statement.

[Norma grins a rather wolfish grin and leans forward to brace her elbows on the counter top, leaning her cheek on hand hand. The other resumes it's sneaking toward Yoru again.]

You don't know the half of half of it. Ha! [SHE GOT IT. Or, well, at least she's got one finger touching the large, circular jewel topping the blade's hilt.] Victory!

[Because Mihawk is Mihawk, as soon as she gets her hand on Yoru, he subtly nudges the sword with a foot, so it slides slightly to the side. Of course, given the size of the thing, slightly is enough to seem like it's moving on its own.]

Careful with that, now.

[Trolling? Of course he's trolling.]

[Uttering the most girliest of squeaks, Norma retracts her hand faster than anything else, holding it close to her chest. The amount of space she jumped back (crashed back, really) is hilarious in it's own right.]

[Mihawk arches an eyebrow at her, expression not so much innocent as carefully blank.]

I am not laughing.

[Yes, yes he is.]

Yeah, but you look smug about it!

[Just remember, Mihawk, she can very easily spit in your glass the next time she serves you.]

[This is not a very deeply rooted fear and he's fairly certain an acceptable danger of teasing one's bartender.]

[He even blinks, as if surprised by that notion.]

I suppose I do.

[Deadpan, Norma. ALL THE DEADPAN.]

[She deals with Marco's deadpan on a regular basis, but good lord, there is something inherently more obnoxious about Mihawk's. And she has to fight back the temptation to deck him - it's a powerful urge.

BUT YOU KNOW WHAT? WHAT SHE'S GONNA DO?! HMMMMM?

She is going to pout. But then she is going to put her entire hand on the top of Mihawk's sword like a boss. AND YOU KNOW WHAT ELSE?!]

I'll tip it over.

[YEAH, YOU HEARD HER.]

[He seems wholly unconcerned by that threat. Enough for it to be a threat of it's own? Maybe. He takes another sip of his drink, unruffled.]

[God damnit and god damn you. Norma releases her sword - n-not because he scares the crud out of her or anything, though!! - and slumps right in front of Mihawk, cheeks resting on her fists as she narrows her eyes at him.]

[Yet she likes you. WHY DOES SHE LIKE YOU?! Probably because he's a jerk with a good sense of humor, and who knows how to have fun at other peoples' expense.]

[Mihawk looks thoroughly uncaring of such a reaction, taking another sip of his drink.]

It is not a wholly unpopular opinion, no.

[Look how much he doesn't care, though!]

[Oh, Norma can see it. And that blatant disregard for what everyone else thinks about what you do or say or whatever earns Mihawk another stamp of approval. Though she's no where near his level of indifference, Norma's stopped caring about what most people think of her, too. She is who she is, and she does what she does.]

...I like you. [She grins.] You're not half bad for a big, ol', potentially terrifying jerk. And you're smart, too.

[And a smartass, but she won't go there yet.]

Potentially?

[His tone is mostly sardonic. The corner of his lip tilts though.]

You will be pleased to know you are not wholly annoying to put up with, then.

[And then he toasts. At her. For the great achievement of not being annoying. Classy.]

[Norma doesn't explain, just continues smiling. Or at least until Mihawk raises his glass at her and--...pfft, was that a compliment? Haha, she is so going to take that as a compliment. And then reach back into the cupboard for another glass, the wine Mihawk likes, and a bottle for herself - a sweeter, white wine. She's never been big on red.]

Aww...that means I have to try harder. Jeez, and here I was enjoying not having to work. [Cheers. Clink!]

Laziness is not a virtue.

[He arches an eyebrow at her, though he clearly doesn't complain about the wine. Mmm, wine. So maybe this conversation was good for more than just entertainment.]

Yeah? Too bad I'm not exactly the virtuous sort.

[Oh, Mihawk. Norma just finds you a good person to talk to, and rewarded your wit and good company. Plus, she's bored - everyone's out doing their holiday-esque shit and she's working. It's probably going to be slow most of the day.]

[He merely arches an eyebrow in response to that, as if to ask too bad for whom. He certainly doesn't care whether she was virtuous or not, so whether it was bad or not was irrelevant to him. He snorted very quietly in the back of his throat.]

Indeed.

[...That's it? Really? Good lord, this guy's more of a stick in the mud than she first thought. He's got a fun side to him, but the other, more stuffy side is a real pain in the rear. It's reminiscent of every off tight-coat old prune she's ever come across. At least he's not bopping her on the head like Will did... Though, with that sword, such actions may be more favorable than others.]

Slow down there, chatterbox, you might bite your tongue if you're not careful. [All the deadpan. She learns fast.]

My apologies, I will try my hardest to not interrupt you in the future.

[You want deadpan? He'll give you deadpan.]

[Ahahaha! Perfect. Norma just pulls back with her characteristic smile and throws up a quick victory sign (or peace, whatever you prefer) to her lonely patron before wheeling around to actually do some work. Gaspu shokku. ...Nah, she's just wiping down the counter and a few glasses that were still in the sink.]

I forgive you! And take it easy for as long as you need to, okay? You wanna avoid the kissy-mast stuff? Take all the time here you need. [She could use the company for a few hours. It's better than sleeping on the job, and doesn't get her in half as much trouble.]

[Mihawk allows the corner of his lip to twitch just the smallest bit.]

I can very well avoid it here or back out there.

[There's a small pause.]

But the wine is always a considerable plus.

[Norma snickers and finishes up the very little work she was doing, hopping back up to sit on the opposite bar counter to swing her legs back and forth. She braces her elbows on her knees and holds her face in her hands with a smile.]

You know, I've read a little bit on mixing drinks and stuff, and there's a recipe I've always wanted to give a try - it's actually a holiday drink, too, that includes wine. Uh...spiced wine. If I ever get it right, I'll let you have a little. I mean, a connoisseur such as yourself... [Norma rolls her wrist with a posh huff.] ...would be a good taste-tester, I think.
